Lina Li is the founding partner of Alpha Law, LLC. She is a native New Yorker. Lina is passionate about her clients’ interest and has a profound legal background and experience to protect and advocate for her clients. Her broad body of experience in multiple areas of law such as immigration, matrimonial, criminal defense, trademark, copyright and civil litigation qualifies her as a general practice lawyer. Her broad level of knowledge and experience allows each client who works with Lina to seamlessly resolve their legal issues with her and her team.

Before founding Alpha Law LLC, Lina served as a legal intern in the domestic violence unit of the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), a non-for-profit organization. At NYLAG, Lina advocated rigorously for diverse clients on extensive legal issues, ranging from obtaining protection orders against violent spouses to obtaining immigration status for the domestic violence victims.

Prior to NYLAG, Lina devoted over a decade to helping new immigrants in the Chinese community. Her love and passion for her community was exhibited through her extensive volunteer work in the neighborhood and further into her work in the legal profession. Lina is passionate about keeping families united, providing equal opportunities to the oppressed and protecting the dreams of those who seek a life in America.

 

As a lawyer, she has helped numerous individuals unite with their families by helping them obtain immigrant visas. Lina also helped immigrants adjust their status within the U.S. to avoid separation from their U.S. family and friends. In protecting the oppressed, Lina obtained status for those who face extreme hardship or encountered violence in America (e.g. I601A waivers, VAWA, U-Visa etc.). In furthering people's dreams and futures, Lina assisted international students, investors, and businesses with their respective visas so they could continue their careers in America for a future they always dreamed of.

In Criminal Law: get arraigned, negotiated and obtained plea bargains resulting in lesser charges. Obtained dismissal for charges in criminal court, etc. 

In Civil Law: litigated corporate disputes, litigated fraud, litigated premise liability, litigated breach of contract cases, etc. 

In Immigration Law: obtained green card for immigrants from wide-ranging backgrounds (e.g. I601a waivers, Immigrant Visas, Green Cards, Asylum, U-visa, VAWA etc.) 

In Matrimonial Law: filed uncontested divorces, drafted prenuptial agreements, drafted postnuptial agreements etc.

In Trademark and Copyright Law: applied and obtained trademarks and copyrights, sued for copyright or trademark infringement, negotiated and contracted licensee(s) for licensors in trademark or copyright, settled infringement cases for large money damages, represented Amazon clients from China in connection with amazon account and or listing suspensions, advocated for brand protection and monitoring.

In Corporate Litigation: represent businesses and corporations involved in lawsuits and other legal proceedings. Ensuring compliance with regulations, manage corporate tax compliance, settling labor disputes, etc.
